Kim Morgan - Handmade Pottery - New Zealand

Work History/Profile

Kim Morgan has been making and firing pottery for over 30 years.

The Master Potter completed the ceramic course in Dunedin in 1978.

The New Zealand potter spent most of the eighties working in Australia, before travelling and settling in the Channel Islands, where he successfully run his own pottery and gallery.

Kim Morgan returned to New Zealand at the end of 1999, and has had his own pottery in Hawke's Bay, along the Tukituki River for the last 12 years.

Within five years of his return to New Zealand one of his large bowls had won first place in the Valentine Contemporary tableware exhibition Christchurch in 2005.

The New Zealand potter has entered in a number of exhibitions and been selected for the Creative Hawke's Bay Invitational 2009, New Zealand Potters 50th National exhibition 2009, and Creative Hawke's Bay Arts Guide Exhibition 2009.

Kim continues to exhibit his pottery around the country, but recently his time has been taken up with his gallery in Havelock North.
